A second snare sound you put on and take off in one move.
The Sombrero is a ring of technical fabric on a weighted metal frame that sits on top of your snare or floor tom. It drops the pitch by up to two tones, dries the overtones and gives you the deep, controlled snare sound of the eighties and nineties: the towel-on-the-snare effect, but with a normal rebound, clean rimshots and fast rolls. The side tab lets you pull it off between songs.
Two weights
- Sombrero Light (0.08 mm): subtle. Takes the ring off, keeps some openness.
- Sombrero Fat (0.14 mm): full effect. Fat, deep, dry.
